The Anthology fanzine reached the plateau of 15,000 page views this month on AZPoetrypedia. But they’re not done; they want to double it again, and get 30,000 page views before December 31st!

How are they going to do it? With readers help, of coarse!

They are launching a contest for people to add updates to the site. Every edit readers make gets one entry towards winning one of Five Mesa National Slamoff CD’s, or a “Poetry Doesn’t Have to Suck” T-Shirt. Complete contest rules are located here:

The Anthology fanzine is seeking three poets for each of the shows below that would like to perform and contribute to a New Anthology Poetry Series called Anthology Night Out. Each show features a performance from each of the three presenters, followed by an open panel discussion regarding the topic of the month. The audience is encouraged to contribute to the dialogue. If you are interested in performing, send an email to Bob Nelson, bob@anthology.org for more details.

January 22nd, 2009 Anthology presents a feature and discussion centered around poetry from the Hispanic community in Arizona. Some have said Arizona’s Hispanic poets are arguably less pronounced than their neighbors in other locations. This is a great opportunity to discuss, and listen, to some great poetry.

On February 26th, 2009 Anthology presents a feature and discussion about poets inspired by The Beats. if you think you write in the style of Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Neal Cassady, etc., or just want to talk about that period in Poetic history, check this out.

March 26th, 2009 Anthology presents a feature and discussion about Women in poetry in Phoenix. Let the ladies take center stage and share their stories and words and discuss their views of writing and performing in the Valley of the Sun.
