The National Audio Theatre Festivals will host the 26th annual Audio Theater Workshop in West Plains, MO, June 23-30, 2007.

This unique audio arts training week is dedicated to all areas of audio production, with a look toward future technology. Beginners to experts of all ages are welcome.

Work with the best . . .

The 2007 Audio Theater Workshop will include concurrent Foundation Classes in all aspects of audio theater production including: writing, performance, recording, mixing, sound design, directing and much more.

The 2007 ATW will include a live theater performance on Friday, June 29, 2007, which will be broadcast and webcast as well as recorded. Show elements will come from workshop classes and participants and will include narrators, Improv Sketches, an NATF Script Competition winner’s play and more.

Some of what you’ll find at the 2007 ATW: Participants attending the weeklong workshop will be able to take classes in audio performance and production.

Special Programs include:

  • A Narrator’s Track hosted by Grammy and Audie-winning audiobook producer/director Paul Ruben. William Dufris, known to many as the voice of Bob the Builder, will be on hand to work with narrators on demo reels. Limited to 20 participants.
  • Improv and character development workshops.
  • Sound Design and Sound Effects sessions.
  • Production of a new audio play from the NATF Script Competition.
  • Field Recording and Audio Art. Award winning audio producer Dwight Frizzell will create “Sonic Force” for the NATF workshop audience – a composition for voice and machine which uses the sounds of A-10 Warthog fighter engines to tell the human stories of the pilots and their jets. Some additional field recording will be done at the conference for this play.
