Late on Monday evening, cast and crew wrapped rehearsals for the Wednesday 4 November performance of Lit Between the Ears – The Plays of William E. Spear. The show is 7:00PM at North County Branch Library in Clinton, New Jersey USA.
Four plays will be premiered:
- Swing for the Fences;
- The Table;
- Celebrating Johnny Parks; and
- It Suits Her.
Open to young people in grades 6 through 9 and their families. Registration begins Wednesday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m.

CLINTON — Hunterdon Radio Theatre will present Lit Between the Ears, the plays of William E. Spear, for North County Library’s Teen Café on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
The cast of HRT will present four original one-act plays, written and directed by Spear, the theatre founder.
Hunterdon Radio Theatre has been working with the teen group at the library for several years, helping them to develop an appreciation for radio theatre by giving them opportunities to participate in the writing and performing of short radio scripts. On Nov. 4, young people will get the opportunity to sit back and see a production by the full HRT ensemble.
Open to young people in grades 6 through 9 and their families. Registration begins Wednesday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. Stop at the library, at 65 Halstead St. in Clinton, or call 908-730-6834.

William E. Spear’s “Swing for the Fences” is included in the April 2009 issue of Viral Cat, a Literary E-ZINE based in San Francisco, California.
“Swing for the Fences” is a play about Jake Alston, a young boy whose entire world is centered on playing baseball with his father. But Jake’s life is changed forever when his father is killed in World War One.

About William E. Spear
Mr. Spear is publisher and producer of Lit Between the Ears a publication which celebrates dramatic audio. In 2006, he published his first anthology, “Lit Between the Ears, Volume One: Chekhov, O. Henry, Spear and Tarkington On the Air”. He is also founder and president of Hunterdon Radio Theatre, a 501-c3 tax exempt nonprofit New Jersey radio theatre corporation.
His second anthology, “Mayonnaise in My Cake and Other Delights”, is scheduled to be published in October 2009. “Swing for the Fences” will be included.

On Saturday October 25, Hunterdon Radio Theatre will offer two performances of Howard Koch’s The War of the Worlds. The estate of Mr. Koch has graciously permitted Hunterdon Radio Theatre to perform the script for which we are indebted.
The performances are at 2:00PM and 8:00PM at the David Sarnoff Library in Princeton, New Jersey. Directing the performances will be William E. Spear. Mr. Spear will also be acting in the shows.

A Benefit Concert for
“The Seriously Talented
and
Brilliantly Creative”
On Saturday September 27, a Fundraising Concert will be held to Benefit the Seriously Talented and Brilliantly Creative members of North County Branch Library’s Teen Café. The Concert will be held at 3:00PM at the Clinton Community Center on Halstead Street in Clinton.
The Teen Café is an ongoing library program open to young people in grades six through nine. Members of Teen Café, along with Hunterdon Radio Theatre, will present a program ranging from classics such as Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven and Beatrix Potter’s Ginger and Pickles to contemporary stories such as Elaine A. Power’s History of Hunterdon County and William E. Spear’s Which Boyfriends Today?
Supporting the program will be the A-Team from Kohl’s in Flemington. They regularly volunteer to enhance children’s lives in local communities. The Kohl’s A-Team, like today’s performance, is “Where you can expect great things.”
Come to the show, support the Teen Café, and enjoy all of the Seriously Talented and Brilliantly Creative performers.
