From Don Slepian in East Stroudsberg, Pennsylvania:
“Spring – it can’t come soon enough! Mark March 22nd and April 18th on your spring calendars and come for some more great live shows at ArtMusic Coffeehouse in East Stroudsburg, PA.
“This month we welcome singer songwriter Steff Mahan as our featured artist for our next show, Sunday evening March 22nd, 2009. She is a wonderful talent, coming all the way from Nashville, Tennessee to play for us.
“Next month, our Saturday evening April 18th show will feature Steve Cohen and the Tree People, coming to us from Eugene, Oregon.
“Special welcome to my friends in Lehigh-Pocono Mensa, this is the fabled “Music for Mensans” program they roll their eyes and whisper about. I’ve invited an equal number of “Densans” with quantum servings of sub-atomic Quarks, Strangeness and Charm. Uh, like intelligent life is here, somewhere, I think. Maybe not.
“All of our concerts are “house concerts”, they take place in the livingroom of our home in East Stroudsburg, PA under the benevolent gaze of our carousel horses. For directions please look here or call us at 570-476-6307. Please arrive between 7pm and 8pm, the music starts at 8pm. Enjoy the music and good company. You can dance if you wish, dancers always influence the music. We do not charge admission. We pass the hat and ask for donations during intermission to support our guest artists. Please show your generous support for our traveling musicians. We accept cash, checks, VISA/MC/AMEX, appreciating stocks, real estate, and select livestock. Additions to the refreshment table gratefully received.
“I usually start the concerts with some music to set the mood. Play any of the music or videos on my website to get the idea.
“I have two new CDs, “Beginnings I” and “Beginnings II” over at my gallery on CD Baby. No one has paid them the slightest attention. Both of them feel like Joshua Bell playing his 3 million dollar Strad violin in the Washington DC subway for coins. Only they aren’t getting any coins. No reviews. Icy indifference. Cruel World. Change this before they melt in their sorrow.
“Bye for now, Happy Incipient Spring!”
Thanks, Don, and break a leg.
