Saturday, August 4 - tonight - from 10 pm - midnight on 89.3 KPCC, L.A. Theatre Works’ The Play’s the Thing continues its new Relativity science series with The Doctor’s Dilemma by George Bernard Shaw, starring Roy Dotrice, Martin Jarvis, Jane Carr, Jennifer Dundas, Ken Danziger and Paxton Whitehead. The blow-hards, the know-it-alls, the unscrupulous, and the impecunious are all targets for Shaw’s incisive wit in his classic satire of the medical profession. Thanks to a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the first broadcast each month of The Play’s The Thing is a science-themed play. Each play in the Relativity series is available for podcasting at http://www.kpcc.org/ for three months following the broadcast. Next month (Saturday, September 1), the series continues with Breaking the Code by Hugh Whitemore. The program includes an interview with Dr. Neil Wenger, Director of the UCLA Healthcare Ethics Center.
